Q. (from Max, Age 7): “Is Breckenfall a real place?”
A. Yes. But from our world, you just can’t get there all at once. If you have time for a few family vacations, you might mention to your parents that you’d like to see the Cliffs of Moher and the nearby castles in Ireland, the New Jersey Pine Barrens, then the beaches of Jamaica and volcanic activity in Iceland. That’s a lot of travel for a young dude and his family. So if your parents happen to say no, you say, “OK, The Magic Kingdom in Orlando is cool, too”. I’m seriously hooking you up there, little man.

The writing for Volume Two is deep. I'm actually not certain some of it shouldn't be in Volume Three. Or Four. That's the rub. We are all just now waking up in Breckenfall for the first time and the mysteries are only lightly seeded in Volume One. It's been awesome - I have stacks of drawings of The Leaper from classrooms. The kids are loving the story. But the adults are picking up on what might be written for them as well...

The pre-production of the real-life, wearable Shinebright pendant continues. Lost-wax casting is very cool. I am learning a lot about metals. Next, I'll need to find someone experienced in ancient magic so they'll work like the Shinebrights in the story. Know someone?
